Replacing the rubber

Replace the rubber regularly

Rubber also has a lifespan and cannot be used forever. If the rubber deteriorates, the ball won’t catch on the ball, which can cause you to feel unwell or lose your form.

Lifespan of rubbers

The estimated time to replace the rubber varies depending on the period of use and amount of practice. The more you practice and the more time you practice, the faster the rubber will wear out, and even if you don’t practice often, the rubber will slowly deteriorate over time. The general guidelines for replacement timing are as follows:

・If the average practice time is 1 to 2 hours a day: about 3 to 4 months
・If the average practice time is 2 to 3 hours a day: about 2 to 3 months
・If the average practice time is 3 to 4 hours a day: about 1 to 2 months

Pimples-in rubber: When the grip on the surface becomes weak, or when the luster is gone and the rubber becomes whitish.
Pimples-out/ Long pimples rubber: When the pimples begins to break, or when the surface becomes discolored and the momentum and rotation become dull

Step 1

Remove the racket from the case and peel off the side tape attached to the side of the racket first.

Step 2

When peeling off the rubber, slowly peel it off diagonally. If you remove it forcibly or in a hurry, it may cause the sponge and wood grain to peel off. Peel it off carefully.

Step 3

Use the piece of rubber that you peeled off to remove any adhesive residue from the surface of the racket.

Step 4

If you apply the rubber with any residue remaining, the rubber surface may become uneven and the rubber may be difficult to stick to.
